An analysis of bow limbs

Bow:  Variable with Stylists limbs, 35#, 66",
draw length 48 cm (measured from the brace height)

To measure the stored energy,
the "Bow Power meter" ver 0.1

and Windows Excel were used.

12 measurements showed 42.94 Joule.
48 measurements showed 43.00 Joule.

To find the equation describing
arrow velocity vs arrow mass,
the Arrow Speedometer ver 1.0

and Windows Excel were used.

v = arrow velocity in m/s
W =
energy stored in the bow (Joule)
m = arrow mass (kg)
virtual mass (kg)

The virtual mass is linearly dependent on
the arrow mass within the measured range.
This might be ascribed to the string elasticity.
Calculation from measured data yields:

  0,0583 = string elasticity factor
                  ( FastFlight, 50 turns )
   x =    arrow mass (g)
5,7697 g = the virtual mass of the bow
         limbs with no arrow
